Vessel SY-1

This 62ft, visually exciting, high performance, sailing catamaran offers superb styling both inside and out. The vessel is fully air-conditioned and possesses state of the art satellite navigation equipment and carries up to 12 guests on day trips to the Great Barrier Reef.

The vessel operates under sail or motor at a cruising speed of 10 knots, reaching speeds over 16 knots under the right conditions. Guests are free to do as much or as little as they please. You will be invited to take part in the sailing process, take the helm and have the intricacies of navigation explained.

As a catamaran of 30 foot beam (width), this vessel is unsurpassed in terms of stability so the journey is smoother than with most powered and sailing mono-hulls, making the vessel more appealing to those who are unsure of their compatibility with ocean vessels! Shallow draft allows the vessel to explore and anchor in places denied to other craft.

The vessel’s highly experienced Skipper is onboard to ensure guests safety and comfort. The vessel will visit sites on Tongue Reef, approximately 20 nautical miles from Port Douglas. Guests can sail, snorkel or relax on deck.

Charters will include gourmet catering with BBQ lunch, morning and afternoon teas and all snorkeling equipment with guided snorkeling tours and instruction.
