Your day starts with a check-in at the Reef Fleet Terminal Sunlover Cruises prior to departing to the Moore Reef located pontoon via fast, modern catamaran (journey time is approximately 90 minutes).
On arrival at the Pontoon at the Great Barrier Reef you will have just under 4 hours free time to explore Moore Reef on the outer edges of the Great Barrier Reef. Your tour will include activities including snorkelling equipment and instruction, glass bottom boat tours and semi-submersible submarine tours with commentary as well as all day access to the underwater observatory (with fish feeding presentation) and a marine life 'touch tank'.
There are a variety of optional activities available (at additional cost) including Introductory Scuba Diving (for the complete novice), Certified Diving (for those who hold Open Water Certification), Guided Snorkelling Safaris and Seawalker Helmet Diving.
Spending time on the reef is a guaranteed way to work up a healthy appetite, your day tour includes a delicious full buffet lunch with a selection of hot dishes, seafood, fresh garden salads, tropical fruits and freshly baked breads. Tea and coffee is available on the pontoon.
At approximately 3.15pm it is time to depart the Great Barrier Reef as you take to the air for a spectacular 25 minute scenic helicopter journey over the magical waters of the Great Barrier Reef before returning to Cairns, arriving at approximately 3.40pm.
Itinerary
- 8:30am - 9.00am: Check-in to Sunlover Cruises for boarding
- 9.30am: Depart Cairns Marina to Great Barrier Reef
- 11.30am: Arrive at Moore Reef Pontoon
- 3.15pm: Return from pontoon via scenic helicopter flight to Cairns
- 3:40pm: Arrive Cairns Heliport at General Aviation for return transfers to accommodation

The operator can carry up to 6 participants from the one group, dependant of passenger weights and helicopter availability.
What to Bring Bring small soft sided day bags as luggage space is restricted on helicopter. Dress for the tropics and bring a hat, sunglasses, your swim suit & towel, sunglasses, camera, hat and sunscreen.
Terms & Conditions Passenger Weight Policy - Please Advise Of Estimated Weights In Booking Form's Comments Box On Making A Booking
Due to Aviation Weight Restrictions a client’s body and luggage weight must be advised prior to the reservation being confirmed. Should a client advise a weight variance of more than 10%, the right is reserved to charge a 100% cancellation fee.
*** Weight limit is 130kgs maximum per person. If weighing in over 130kgs please email us for additional information, as the operator can carry passengers over 130ks by arrangement by applying a 50% surcharge to the pricing and reducing the number of passengers carried on the flight (subject to availability)
Child’s Rate Policy
One (1) infant under their 3rd birthday may travel free of charge if seated on a guardian’s lap. A maximum of one infant per helicopter may travel as per CASA regulations. Children 3 years and above pay full fare.
Insurance
The helicopter operator carries full insurance including Public Liability Insurance of $50,000,000.00.
Minimum and maximum passenger numbers
Minimum passenger numbers may apply. Groups larger than 6 passengers may require private charter. Please liaise with Cairns Visitor Centre at time of booking.
Fuel Surcharge
With fluctuations in world oil prices, it may be necessary to apply a fuel surcharge to the ticket price. In such cases any charge will be collected on departure.
Cancellation Policy
Booking Deposit Non Refundable. Cancellations made 48 hours or less prior to departure will incur a 100% cancellation fee (no refund applies). Should a client advise a weight variance of more than 10% the right is reserved to cancel and no refund will apply. All refunds must be issued at the point of sale.
