The Cruise

Sea Quest travels to two separate Outer Barrier Reef locations each day with a choice of 17 permanent moorings on the Outer Barrier Reef to choose from; offering ‘all weather access’!  The vessel represents fantastic value for money and gives passengers up to 5 hours free time with the opportunity to snorkel or dive.

Snorkellers can enjoy unlimited snorkelling at two completely different reef locations. All of the snorkelling equipment you will require is supplied as part of your trip, including a wetsuit or stinger suit as well as floatation noodles. The vessel's friendly and professional crew will show you how to correctly fit and put your equipment on during the pre-snorkelling briefings as well as offer valuable tips and insight on how to get the very best out of your time in the water . Guided snorkelling tours are also included in your day if you wish to learn about and see more of the marine wildlife. The vessel's crew keep a constant watch over the snorkelling sites. So you just have to relax and enjoy exploring the wonders of the reef in safety.

Certified Divers can do up to 3 dives on the Outer Great Barrier Reef in the course of a day! Dive locations on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef’s warm waters (approximately 70km offshore) offer outstanding underwater visibility, superb coral formations and an abundance of colourful marine life including Wally the resident friendly 1.5 metre Maori Wrasse (at Norman Reef), cute little 'Nemos' (Clownfish), magnificent turtles and rays! You may also have the opportunity to dive in beautiful coral gardens and caves.

The Introductory Scuba program offers a perfect introduction to the reef with pre-dive tuition teaching you all you have to know about the diving skills, equipment, communication under water and the marine wildlife before your exciting first dive! Close underwater supervision by professional dive instructors will give you an amazing experience and you will also receive a certificate of recognition. Introductory Diving requires no licence but participants will be asked to complete an on board medical questionnaire / declaration prior to diving.

Your day on the Great Barrier Reef will include A delicious Tropical Buffet lunch consisting of cold meats, a selection of fresh salads, fresh bread rolls and tropical fruits. Tea, coffee and chilled water is available throughout the day and snacks and drinks are available at the vessel's bar for purchase.

A brilliant vessel, custom designed and built for its intended purpose as a comfortable day vessel in all weather conditions, Reef Quest also offers hot, fresh water showers and a great back dive deck to ensure superior levels of comfort and water entry!

Reef Quest arrives back into the Cairns Marina at approximately 4.30pm in the afternoon.
