Poseidon - Outer Barrier Reef Tour
Duration: Day Tour
Departs: Port Douglas 8:30am Daily (coach transfers available on request from Cairns)
Returns: Port Douglas 04:30pm Daily

This fast comfortable catamaran takes you to the very edge of the Outer Barrier Reef in just over 1 hour, giving you 5 hours "out there" to swim, snorkel, dive or simply relax at 3 magnificent sites. The spacious air-conditioned saloon and open deck areas make perfect settings to enjoy morning and afternoon tea and the delicious tropical smorgasbord lunch.
Poseiden's high cruising speed ensures access to superb unspoilt reefs beyond the range of slower vessels. The crystal clear waters, beautiful corals and incredible fish-life found at the Agincourt, Ribbon Reefs 70km north east of Port Douglas and on the very outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef, enable them to offer the best possible day boat diving. This includes drift and wall dives, isolated pinnacles surrounded by pelagic fish, and coral gardens with their endless variety of colourful wrasses, cods, parrot fish, clown fish, angel fish, clams and anemones, that make a healthy living reef so beautiful.
Snorkellers on Poseidon visit 3 different snorkeling locations on Agincourt Reef where they will enjoy unrestricted exploration of shallow lagoons, spectacular drop-offs and an unbelievable variety of fragile corals and colourful marine life. Beginner Snorkellers are provided with flotation devices and given personal one on one in-water assistance by our experienced and helpful guide. A trained snorkeling advisor is on board to ensure the proper use of snorkel equipment.
No experience is necessary to enjoy the thrill of a scuba dive under the safe and controlled circumstances with highly qualified PADI dive instructors. An Introductory dive on the Great Barrier Reef is often the highlight of visitor’s holiday in Australia. A PADI Instructor will closely supervise and guide your dive. Children as young as 12 years and over can also enjoy this experience. Please note that certain medical conditions and medications may preclude some passengers from Diving.
For the Adventurous explorer, guided dives are available at some of the best Outer Reef sites that the Great Barrier Reef has to offer. Dive sites include wall, pinnacles and coral gardens with a spectacular variety of fish and coral life at the very edge of the Great Barrier Reef. Because of this vessels roving permits, they can choose three spectacular dive locations to visit, over the one day on the Agincourt Ribbon Reef System. Dives take place from the main vessel at our mooring site, a live boat with a Drift Dive back to the main vessel or from our dive tender for more inaccessible dive sites. Make the most of the dive, provided with gear inclusion are Dive Computers and Large Tanks (75 or 88 cf tanks), which allows for more time under water!
