Kangaroo Explorer 3 Day / 2 Night PADI Open Water Advance Dive Course - Liveaboard Course

Cairns Dive Centre conducts the PADI Advanced 'Adventurer' Dive Course daily, the course is completed over 3 days and 2 nights, spent entirely onboard M.V. Kangaroo Explorer on the Outer Barrier Reef. A professional Reef Team will guide you through your course which is a mixture of training and pleasure diving. You wil visit a variety of sites on the Outer Barrier Reef (approximately 2 hours off of the coast of Cairns). Sites visited include the beautiful Moore, Milln, Briggs, Elford and Thetford reefs.

The Advanced course consists of 5 training dives - your first 3 dives are a Deep Dive, Navigation Dive & Night Dive. A further 2 dives must be completed from a selection of dives including Search & Recovery, Boat Diver, Underwater Naturalist and Multi Level dive. 

The dives included in this course are

• Photography
• Multi-level Dive

The course also includes an additional 5 'pleasure dives', giving you a total of up to 10 dives (including 2 night dives). There is also plenty of time between training dives for recreational diving and snorkelling.

Your liveaboard excursion will include 3 different Great Barrier Reef locations with all meals and accommodation. Full dive gear hire is included; including torches and accessories required for night dives.

During your PADI Advanced Open Water course you will reinforce your newly learned skills and extend your diving knowledge in order to gain PADI Advanced Open Water Certification

Insufficient dive qualifications and/or some medical conditions may prevent you from diving. Prior to commencing diving you will be asked to complete a questionnaire regarding your diving qualifications, experience and current fitness to dive. Should you answer yes to any of the medical questions asked you will be required to consult a doctor to acquire a written medical clearance to dive prior to your dive trip. If you are unsure about a specific medical condition please check with your doctor or with us prior to making your reservation.

Please note there are regulations about flying or going to altitude after diving

• Currently the rules state that for a single no decompression dive, you should not fly/go to altitude for at least 12 hours.
• For multiple dives you should not fly/go to altitude for at least 18 hours
• We recommend waiting a minimum 24 hours whenever possible. These are guidelines only; there is no guarantee that these recommendations will prevent decompression sickness. Currently there are no guidelines regarding diving after flying.
• Altitude is 300m/1000ft above sea level.
• This includes elevated areas such as the Atherton Tablelands, so be careful when you are booking tours following diving

General Notes

• Pick up and drop off / accommodation transfers from Cairns City based accommodation are included
• Transfers from Cairns Northern Beaches are not available and guests are required to make their own way from Cairns Northern Beaches to Cairns Dive Centre’s offices at 100 Abbott Street in Cairns for check-in.
• The above itinerary is a guide only, and the order of diving and sites visited may change. The captain will always adapt the itinerary to suit weather and tidal conditions
• Cairns Dive Centre Recommends you carry travel insurance as they do not refund or change trips within 48 hours of travel date.

• Kangaroo Explorer will be out of the water for maintenance from 30th January 2018 until 31st of March 2018 and this dive course will be unavailable during this time.
