The Package Take a 3 'separate' Day Tour package including a full day Great Barrier Reef Tour to the Outer Barrier Reef onboard the MV Evolution, a day to spend exploring Kuranda Village in the Rainforest with included Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Tour as well as a day visiting the Great Australian Outback with Granite Gorge, Chillagoe Caves with Guided Cave Tour. Your day tours can be booked in any order and do not need to be taken on consecutive days. The three separate touring areas included in this package represent some of the most popular attractions of the region.
Day 1 - Outer Barrier Reef Cruise - Brand New Evolution!Departs 8.30am (7.30am check-in)

Enjoy a day to remember on the Great Barrier Reef. Travel on a luxurious, large, modern catamaran, cruising at high speeds with a superior and comfortable ride in all weather conditions. The vessel’s professional, friendly and attentive staff will help to ensure you enjoy a safe and enjoyable fun-filled experience.
Your day tour on the Great Barrier Reef will include guided snorkeling tours with all snorkeling equipment and tuition included, a delicious BBQ Lunch including a selection of fresh local produce with steak, fish, prawns, sausages and tropical salads (vegetarians are catered for on request) and your will get to visit two Outer Barrier Reef locations in the one day!
Locations visited have been carefully selected for the clarity of the water and the abundance and diversity of marine life. Reef locations visited are, Norman, Saxon and Hastings Reefs with sites chosen by your vessel’s captain on a day by day basis, helping to afford the best protection, underwater visibility and snorkelling and diving opportunities by taking into account the day’s prevailing weather conditions.
For Snorkellers; reef snorkelling locations have been selected for their variety and bottom contours in order to provide the best experience for both beginner and experienced snorkelers. The vessel’s crew keep a constant watch over snorkeling sites both in and out of the water, making sure all passengers are able to enjoy snorkelling in perfect safety.
Introductory Divers can try Scuba diving without any previous training or experience! That’s right, even if you have never dived before and have always wished to experience firsthand the beauty of the underwater world you can arrange an Introductory dive with one of the vessel’s friendly and professional Dive Instructors (Introductory Diving is available at additional cost).
For Certified Divers there are two exclusive dive locations, with plenty of time between dives for snorkeling and relaxation. Certified divers can enjoy up to three dives on two different outer reef locations on the Great Barrier Reef. All gear and equipment is included (Certified Diving is available at additional cost).
Arrive at the first site of the day (Norman or Saxon Reef locations) and spend up to 2 ½ hours snorkelling or diving before moving to on to the second reef location of the day (Hastings Reef) and taking a break for the delicious BBQ lunch. Spend the rest of the afternoon, snorkelling, diving and enjoying some of the optional activities such as the semi submersible submarine tour or scenic reef helicopter flights.
After completing your day on the Great Barrier Reef, kick back and relax on deck as the crew entertain you on the trip home, with music, fun and laughter as well as being served a complimentary glass of wine and cheese, fruit platter! Arrive back into Cairns at approximately 5.00pm

Your day starts with a transfer from Cairns accommodation to the Freshwater Railway Station. On arrival at Freshwater Station, board the famous Kuranda Scenic Rail for your journey to Kuranda. The Kuranda Scenic Rail takes approximately 1 ¾ hours as it winds its way through a tropical rainforest paradise framed by rugged mountains with waterfalls tumbling forever into deep ravines. Arrive into Kuranda Village Railway Station at approximately 10.30am.
There is plenty of free time in Kuranda for you to explore the village. The Kuranda Markets are open 7 days a week, giving you the chance to see the local arts and crafts and do a little souvenir shopping if you wish. There are restaurants and cafes in the village where you can stop, relax and enjoy a bite to eat or enjoy a refreshing beverage. The village boasts a variety of attractions including Birdworld, The Australian Butterfly Sanctuary and the Koala Gardens.
After enjoying free leisure time in Kuranda Village it’s time to travel back to Cairns via another route, the world famous Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Board Skyrail at approximately 2.15pm to return to Cairns along the curve of the rainforest lined range. The Skyrail Rainforest Cableway experience spans 7.5kms over Australia’s pristine tropical rainforests. You’ll glide just metres above the rainforest canopy before descending through the canopy layers and deep into the heart of the forest at Skyrail’s two rainforest mid-stations for the ultimate tropical rainforest experience.
The Skyrail Rainforest Cableway journey takes 1 ¼ hours to complete and there are Skyrail staff positioned along the route and at the rainforest stations to help you disembark and reboard your ‘gondolas’ as you travel the length of the cableway.
On completing your Skyrail Rainforest Cableway journey you will arrive at Caravonica Skyrail Terminal where your coach will be waiting to transfer you back to your accommodation arriving at approximately 4.30pm.

Experience highlights of the Tablelands and Outback, touring paths less travelled and taking in areas less visited by taking a 4 Wheel Drive Tour of the Tablelands and Outback including a tour of the Chillagoe Mine, Chillagoe Caves, lunch at an Aussie Pub, Aboriginal Rock Art and Granite Gorge.
Your naturalist guide will collect you from Cairns City or Northern Beaches accommodation and after introductions all round, it’s time to commence your day.
Travel west as you ascend the McAllister Range and head to the first stop of the day, at Skybury Coffee Plantation, looking for many different species of bush birds, including Emus, Wedge Tail Eagles, Squatter Pigeons and Kangaroos, Frilled Neck Lizards along the way. Stop at Skybury Coffee Plantation for morning tea, served with stunning views of lush farm lands and rainforest.
From Mareeba, rolling hills rich in minerals eventually give to towering limestone karsts scattered around Chillagoe Township. Here you can delve into the rich history of the Chillagoe copper smelters, whose old chimneys dominate the western horizon. Visiting the remains of the once mighty smelters, it’s hard to imagine the hardships that our early pioneers would have faced working there. Your guide will be able to provide interesting and informative commentary, regarding the technology of mineral (copper, silver, lead and gold) smelting at the turn of the 20th century as the physical remains at the Chillagoe Smelters preserve important evidence of historic smelting processes that are rare today
After visiting the mine, it is time for a wonderful lunch at a true Australian Outback Pub, the Post Office Hotel which built back at the turn of the century. Here you can enjoy a a wonderful lunch including a choice of fish, chips & salad or homemade hamburger and chips before setting off to have a look at the historical town centre and surrounds en-route to enjoy a National Parks guided tour of the Chillagoe Caves! Descend through a narrow cave entrance into a hidden world. Discover enchanting columns, sparkling crystals and Millions of years in the making, the limestone formations and Chillagoe Caves are nothing short of spectacular. The cave tour lasts approximately an hour and is a highlight of the tour, allowing participants the chance to discover and explore highlights of the caves, showcasing an area of ecological and geological significance.
Visit the Aboriginal Rock Art and the Balancing Rock. Climb a rough track for a great photo opportunity of Balancing Rock, a spectacular limestone outcrop within the park and enjoy views of the surrounding open woodlands as you catch your breath. There’s even time for a Visit to the unique gift shop which specialises in gifts of Chillagoe marble and local Aboriginal Art.
After the cave tour, head back towards the east coast, stopping at Dimbulah for comfort stop before visiting Granite Gorge to spot wild life and enjoy some tropical fruit tasking. Formed millions of years ago by ancient volcanoes, the boulders at Granite Gorge are a natural wonder well worth a stop, Granite Gorge Nature Park affords you the opportunity to observe indigenous species, such as rock wallabies and possums in a bush setting.
All too soon it’s time to say goodbye as you make your way back down the range arriving back in Cairns to be dropped off at accommodation by approximately 6.30pm.

Important Terms & Conditions for Diving & Great Barrier Reef Cruise
- A history of asthma, diabetes, ear and sinus infections, epilepsy, heart disease, pregnancy, recent operations and other medical conditions and medications may preclude a passenger from diving
- On board you will be asked to fill out a "Snorkel/Diving Medical Declaration". This is done to ensure your safety and our professionalism in maintaining the highest safety standards and complying with Australian regulations. Some medical conditions may restrict your diving and snorkelling in Australia
- Certified divers must show an internationally recognised scuba card / dive certification or Diver’s Log Book
- It is recommended that you do not fly within 24hours of last dive.
- No refund for incomplete dives
- Cruise and Diving are weather permitting and all activities are undertaken at Captain’s discretion
- Semi Submersible Submarine tours operate subject to weather conditions
