This premier day tour option includes the best of Cape Tribulation and the Daintree, with guided walks, swimming, lunch and guaranteed wildlife spotting.
Start your day by experiencing one of the most scenic drives in Australia along the Captain Cook Highway, heading north from Cairns as you make your way up to Port Douglas.
Arriving at Port Douglas you will visit the Rainforest Habitat Nature Park where you will see the endangered Cassowary and a myriad of other wildlife including Koalas, Australian Birds, Lizards, the rare Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo and the iconic Estuartine Salt Water Crocodiles. A visit to the Rainforest Habitat will allow you the opportunity to get up close and learn more about our unique Australian Wildlife as you take a guided walk through the sanctuary.
Travel north from Port Douglas to cross the Daintree River on the cable ferry and travel north to the World Heritage Daintree Rainforest where you will enjoy a dip in the pristine waters of Mason’s freshwater swimming hole. Followed by a locally sourced lunch at Masons Café. The Mason family settled in Cape Tribulation in 1932 and the cafe is now run by third generation family member, Lawrence Mason.
Enjoy a cruise on the Daintree River. Your Daintree Rive Cruise will allow you to explore the river system whilst looking for birds and crocodiles along the way.
Cross the Daintree River on cable ferry before heading up to Cape Tribulation. Here you will have free time to enjoy the iconic Cape Tribulation Beach and be offered the opportunity to take a guided walk along the Dubuji Boardwalk with the opportunity to see more wildlife (with great photo opportunities) along this unique beach side eco system.
After a big day of adventure, the perfect way to cool down and relax is with an exotic tasting experience at Daintree Ice Cream Company. Handmade on site with organically grown fruit it is easy to see why this ice cream has won multiple awards.
