MV Evolution's ‘Heli, Dive & Snorkel’ Great Barrier Reef Package offers a truly memorable reef experience to the true outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef. Evolution is brand new, state of the art, large, modern and sleek catamaran. Cruising at high speed the vessel provides a superior and comfortable ride in all weather conditions. Professional, friendly and attentive staff help ensure a safe and enjoyable fun-filled experience.

Your ‘Heli, Dive & Snorkel package’ will see you visit two Great Barrier Reef locations in one day, and these locations have been carefully selected for the clarity of the water and the abundance and diversity of marine life. Reefs visited are Saxon and Hastings Reefs, chosen for excellent snorkel and dive opportunities with great underwater visibility.

Your first reef location on the day is Saxon Reef; here you will be able to choose either an Introductory Dive or a Certified Dive. For 'first time' Introductory Divers; after an in-depth briefing from expert dive staff, gear up and jump in the water for the thrill of a lifetime as you are guided through this amazing wonderland. For Certified Divers; either buddy up with a friend or join dive guides as you push the limits and explore the amazing ecology of the reef.

Diving packages will include full gear hire and instruction. You will spend 2 & 1/2 fabulous hours enjoying time at Saxon Reef, after diving activities you are welcome to spend time snorkeling.

For those who do not wish to dive, of course there is plenty of fabulous snorkelling to be had over two Outer Barrier Reef locations. Snorkelling packages include snorkelling equipment, instruction and crew assisted guided snorkelling tours. 

After working up an appetite enjoy an Aussie BBQ lunch including steak, sausages, fresh local fish and prawns and fresh salads.

Your second site of the day is at Hastings Reef. Here you will be briefed before being loaded onto your state of the art helicopter for an unforgettable 10 minute scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef. Turtles, sharks and even whales can be spotted from up on high and you will get a feel of the size and formation of this amazing natural wonder from an aerial perspective.

After enjoying your scenic flight you will have the opportunity to enjoy a more snorkeling and the option for divers to upgrade to do additional dives.

Finally, at the end of your day, cruise back to Cairns while enjoying the hilarious antics of Elvis, Evolution’s resident on-board entertainer as he sings and performs his famous didgeridoo show.

Arrive back into Cairns at approximately 4.30pm into Cairns Marlin Marinas.

What to Bring

• Bring small soft sided day bags as luggage space is restricted on helicopter. Dress for the tropics and bring a hat, sunglasses, your swim suit & towel, sunglasses, camera, hat & sunscreen.

Terms & Conditions

Passenger Weight Policy
Due to Aviation Weight Restrictions a client’s body and luggage weight must be advised prior to the reservation being confirmed. Should a client advise a weight variance of more than 10%, the right is reserved to charge a 100% cancellation fee.110kg Maximum Weight per passenger. If passenger exceeds weight limit, please enquire of rates as two seats may be required and a surcharge will apply.

Infant Rate Policy
One (1) infant under their 3rd birthday may travel free of charge if seated on a guardian’s lap. A maximum of one infant per helicopter may travel as per CASA regulations. Children 3 years and above pay full fare.

Insurance
The helicopter operator carries full insurance including Public Liability Insurance of $50,000,000.00.

Minimum and maximum passenger numbers
Minimum passenger numbers may apply. Groups larger than 6 passengers may require private charter. Please liaise with Cairns Visitor Centre at time of booking.

Fuel Surcharge
With fluctuations in world oil prices, it may be necessary to apply a fuel surcharge to the ticket price. In such cases any charge will be collected on departure.

Cancellation Policy
Booking Deposit Non Refundable. Cancellations made 24 hours or less prior to departure will incurr a 100% cancellation fee. Travel insurance is recommended.

Conditions of Carriage
The tour operator will not be liable for any loss, damage, additional expense or inconvenience arising from, or incidental to, any delay in service, howsoever caused. The tour operator works in conjunction with other tour operators and is not liable for other operator's acts or omissions whether negligent or otherwise. Travel and admissions will be subject to the conditions imposed by these operators, which may limit or exclude liability for personal injury or property damage.
