This 3 Day - 2 Night Four Wheel Drive accommodated safari will show you select highlights of Cape Tribulation & Daintree Rainforests and Cooktown areas without the rush associated with day tours. Travel along the Cook Highway, north through the Daintree Rainforest with Daintree River Cruise and overnight accommodation at Cape Tribulation. The next day, in the mid morning, you re board your vehicle and will travel along the Bloomfield Track up to Cooktown. Spend the afternoon enjoying Cooktown's local sights including Grassy Hill Lookout. Overnight in Cooktown (choice of moderate or deluxe accommand enjoy a free day at leisure on your last day, before flying back to Cairns.

Day 1 - Cairns to Cooktown (MT, L, AT) This morning you will be collected from your accommodation in a custom built 4 WD Vehicle. Travel north along the scenic Captain Cook Highway past uninhabited beaches with views out over the Coral Sea enroute to Mossman. Lush verdant green farmland contrasts with seascapes as you approach the majestic Daintree River. After enjoying a short break for morning tea, its 'all aboard' for an informative one hour Daintree River cruise. Relax and enjoy the splendour only the Daintree can offer as you learn of Estuarine Crocodiles, mangrove forests and wildlife, this is nature at its best!
Departing the Daintree you will ascend the Alexandra Range and pause for a panoramic view of World Heritage Tropical Rainforest merging with the azure colours of the Coral Sea. Experience the rainforest intimately via an elevated National Park Boardwalk. Accurate interpretations of flora and fauna will be given with ample time for photographs and questions as you search for the elusive, rare and totally unique Southern Cassowary and other wildlife species within this particular habitat.
A delicious barbecue lunch with freshly prepared salads is served while you have the opportunity to hand feed a kangaroo and enjoy a cold drink from the bar. Travel beyond Cape Tribulation along the 4WD Bloomfield Track to pristine Emmagen Creek and time for a refreshing rainforest stream swim. Seek fish and turtles in the creek, butterflies and exotic birds in the trees and indulge in a feast of tropical fruit, a complimentary glass of wine and a cup of traditional Billy Tea, all of which enhance the tranquil surroundings.
At Cape Tribulation Beach there is a little time to swim in the Coral Sea (seasonal) or stroll along the beach and boardwalk to the photographers' platform overlooking the mountains and coast where the 'Rainforest meets the Reef'. You will be taken to your overnight accommodation in Cape Tribulation where the remainder of the day and evening is at your leisure. Breakfast & Dinner is at own expense.
Day 2 - Cooktown to Daintree Rainforest (L) This morning you will be collected from your accommodation by 4 WD Vehicle and your journey will continue to own to Cooktown, the last frontier of Far North Queensland. The 4WD only Bloomfield Track allows you to travel through the heart of this World Heritage Listed area providing incredible glimpses of Far North Queensland. Travel over rugged mountain ranges and river crossings. Lunch is at the historic Lions Den Hotel, one of North Queensland’s oldest running bush pubs (est. 1875). Continure north, visiting the mysterious Black Mountains, a place steeped in Aboriginal legend before arriving mid afternoon in Cooktown. Stop at Grassy Hill and enjoy 360 degree panoramic views of Cooktown, the Endeavour River and the Coral Sea. Have your camera ready! In the late afternoon transfer to overnight accommodation in Cooktown. Breakfast & Dinner at own expense.
Day 3 - Daintree Rainforest to Cairns Free Day to explore Cooktown. The day is yours to enjoy at leisure, to explore and soak up the sights and sounds of Cooktown. Take a stroll around the town, have lunch in an Aussie pub, visit the Botanic Gardens or Cooktown Museum.
In the afternoon transfer to the Cooktown Airport for the 45 minute flight to Cairns along the scenic Daintree Coastline. Transfer to Cooktown Airport at 4.30pm with flight departing at 5.45pm, arriving Cairns at 6.30pm.
Your tour concludes at Cairns General Aviation Airport. Cairns guests are required to make own way from General Aviation to Cairns accommodation (taxis can be requested onboard your flight). Port Douglas guests have a pre booked coach seat back to Port Douglas accommodation.
