The TourThe Cape York Day Tour is designed to show you the highlights of Cape York, both from the air and by 4WD. This is an ideal way to see highlights of the Cape, ideal for travellers who are short on time or those who like to see the terrain from the air!

Your day begins with a Scenic Flight to Bamaga from Cairns flying at low level, covering approximately 1100 kilometres of remote and spectacular reefs, rainforests and great outback. You will see parts of Cape York which are inaccessible by vehicles, locations such as Cape Melville, the silica sands of Cape Flattery, Bathurst Heads, Princess Charlotte Bay and the Flinders Islands Group. On arriving al at Bamaga a 4 wheel drive vehicle will be waiting at Injinoo to transfer you to The Northern Most Point Of The Australian Continent with a local guide). The 4WD section of the tour takes you to Australia's northernmost beach, Frangipani Beach, via the Lockerbie Scrub and a pocket of Northern Rainforest. From Frangipani Beach you will walk approximately 1000 metres to the Tip of Cape York! You finally made it! You will never look at a map of Australia the same way again! You are now standing on the northernmost tip of the continent.

From the air you will sit back in air conditioned comfort to enjoy the ride and breathtaking views as you soar above the Rainforests, Wetlands, Silica Sands, Rivers, Escarpments and the pristine beaches of Cape York. Your expert pilot guise will show you Lookout Point, The Jardine, Endeavor, Wenlock and Daintree Rivers, Forbes Islands, Cooktown, Cape Flattery, Cape Melville, Cape Grenville, Cape Tribulation, and the Iron Range and Lakefield National Parks just to name a few. The above itinerary is indicative only. The actual route on the day will be determined by weather considerations and fuel requirements.

Cape York covers an area of about 208,000 square kilometers and is one of the most beautiful and diverse real wilderness areas left on Earth today. Cape York consists of high rainforest clad mountains, low lying wet lands, rolling granite hills, rivers that flow east and west and that once upon a time were full of gold (and in some cases still are), huge water falls, white sandy beaches, towering escarpments and low lying savannah country. The flora and fauna range from the most delicate of orchids to the most robust of melaleucas which are home to thousands of birds, animals, and reptiles. The Great Barrier Reef runs parallel to the east coast of Cape York. The Great Barrier Reef is made up of thousands of reefs and hundreds of islands which stretch from the base of New Guinea to Fraser Island in the South East part of Queensland.
