The TourThis shorter styled Half Day Reef Tour & Scenic Flight offers those short on time a taste of the true Outer Barrier Reef.
Enjoy a late pickup from accommodation and check-in to the heliport for introductions and a flight safety briefing. Fly on out to the Outer Barrier Reef, sweeping over coral gardens and sand cays witnessing a myriad of corals and marine life from high above, before landing on an helipad on the outer edges of the Great Barrier Reef.
Here you will be met by MV Evolution’s friendly crew and escorted to the vessel by launch. This large modern, state of the art catamaran provides a superior ride in all weather conditions, with plenty of space and and exclusive protected moorings at true Outer Barrier Reef locations. Professional, friendly and attentive staff ensure a safe and enjoyable fun filled experience.
Once onboard MV Evolution you will enjoy an Aussie BBQ lunch, a guided snorkelling tour (included) ! Your half day reef experience will allow for 1 & 1/2 hours free time at Hastings Reef. Scuba diving, for the novice and experienced diver, is available as an optional extra onboard (subject to availability / time permitting).
Enjoy a leisurely cruise back to Cairns with live entertainment and a complimentary glass of wine, arriving into Cairns at approximately 4.45pm in the afternoon.
Please Note: This is a half day tour with 2 hours free time on the MV Evolution and Outer Barrier Reef. Due to time restrictions if you are intending on doing the optional diving you may have to elect to lose time on either the included snorkelling tour option or glass bottom boat tour. If more time to do all activities is required, a full day tour is recommended.

Due to Aviation Weight Restrictions a client’s body and luggage weight must be advised prior to the reservation being confirmed. Should a client advise a weight variance of more than 10%, the right is reserved to charge a 100% cancellation fee.110kg Maximum Weight per passenger. If passenger exceeds weight limit, please enquire of rates as two seats may be required and a surcharge will apply.
Child’s Rate Policy
One (1) infant under their 3rd birthday may travel free of charge if seated on a guardian’s lap. A maximum of one infant per helicopter may travel as per CASA regulations. Children 3 years and above pay full fare.
Insurance
The helicopter operator carries full insurance including Public Liability Insurance of $50,000,000.00.
Minimum and maximum passenger numbers
Minimum passenger numbers may apply. Groups larger than 6 passengers may require private charter. Please liaise with Cairns Visitor Centre at time of booking.
Fuel Surcharge
With fluctuations in world oil prices, it may be necessary to apply a fuel surcharge to the ticket price. In such cases any charge will be collected on departure.
Cancellation Policy
Booking Deposit Non Refundable. Cancellations made 48 to 24 hours prior to the flying will be incurr a 50% cancellation fee. Flights cancelled 24 hours or less prior to travel will incurr a 100% cancellation fee. Travel insurance is recommended.
Conditions of Carriage
The tour operator will not be liable for any loss, damage, additional expense or inconvenience arising from, or incidental to, any delay in service, howsoever caused. The tour operator works in conjunction with other tour operators and is not liable for other operator's acts or omissions whether negligent or otherwise. Travel and admissions will be subject to the conditions imposed by these operators, which may limit or exclude liability for personal injury or property damage.
Semi Submersible Submarine Tours are subject to weather conditions. Introductory Diving subject to applicants successfully passing a Dive Medical Questionnaire
