Itinerary
|
Day 1 |
Reef Endeavour sets sail for Fitzroy Island whose lush tropical rainforests are a haven for over 35 different species of birds. Escorted walks from the village resort reveal beautiful ferns and native orchids. |
|
Day 2 |
Hedley Reef - A full day to snorkel, dive and explore the wonders of the sea. Hedley Reef was produced over thousands of years by billions of tiny coral polyps. Explore a kaleidoscope of formations including staghorn, brain, boulder and fan corals. Join the Marine Naturalist on the glass bottom boat and discover vibrantly coloured sea creatures. Or simply luxuriate on board and enjoy the delights of shipboard life |
|
Day 3 |
Hinchinbrook Channel - It's hard to imagine a lovelier cruising channel than Hinchinbrook. The narrow passage that separates Australia's largest island national park from the mainland, teems with life. Green canopies, mangrove lagoons and long curving beaches provide refuge for native birds, dolphins, gentle dugongs and migrating whales Exotic Dunk Island is a tropical paradise and a beachcomber's delight.
Walk pathways tunnelled through rainforest to find vivid native flowers
and rainbow coloured birds, or enjoy the convivial hospitality at the
island resort. Tonight you are invited to the Captain's Farewell Dinner
- a gala celebration that can last into the wee small hours |
|
Day 4 |
Reef Endeavour returns to Cairns 08:00am |
The Cruise
As the world slips away from the bow, you will wake each day to a new adventure
- on the Ultimate Great Barrier Reef Cruise. Reef Endeavour will carry you beyond
the reach of holiday crowds to wonders few have seen or experienced - exotic
island hideaways, soft sandy beaches, balmy bays and remote outer reefs. Our
own Marine Naturalist will introduce you to the beauty of the Reef as well as
the intricate ecology that created it. You will come to know the countless varieties
of flora and fauna, both land and marine, on a cruise where we are ever respectful
of the environment.
Reef Endeavour offers roomy tropical lounges with panoramic views, cocktail bar, baby grand, video, lift, library, gift shop and 24 hour self serve coffee bar. By day, the Dining Saloon has a tropical atmosphere, with lavish breakfasts and luncheons featuring fresh Barrier Reef seafood and local delicacies. In the evening the ship's chefs seek to outdo last night's meal with superb a la carte international dining. After dinner there is dancing and entertainment or romance under the stars.
Reef Endeavour's state-of-the-art design features all the latest technology
and comforts for a total Barrier Reef experience - computerised navigation,
satellite communications and four onboard reef vessels including glass bottom
boat, snorkelling and dive tenders.
