Your day starts with a pick-up from Cairns or Port Douglas accommodation before boarding your helicopter for a stunning scenic flight with views of the tropical coastline, mountains and the outback to arrive at the Undara Lava Tubes. The Undara Lava Tubes were formed some 190,000 years ago when a major volcano in the McBride volcanic province erupted, its molten lava flowing down a dry river bed. Here you will enjoy a tour of the Lava Tubes with an accredited Savannah Guide. After the tour you will enjoy lunch at the Undara Lava Lodge’s Fettlers Iron Pot Bistro before flying on to Chillagoe to enjoy a guided tour of Chillagoe’s limestone caves. The caves feature spectacular formations of stalactites and stalagmites. Millions of years in the making, the limestone formations are nothing short of spectacular. Enjoy afternoon tea and refreshments before flying back to Cairns or Port Douglas.
