The best way to experience the Great Barrier Reef is with local operators Tusa Dive on the evolutionary Tusa 5.

Tusa6 delivers more comfort, more space, more efficient functionality, and offers the very latest in technology. Fully air-conditioned through out with two spacious deck areas this vessel is in survey to carry 120 passengers but will only carry 60 passengers at full capacity each day! The crew to passenger ration is 1:6 so you can expect quality service and attention to detail.

Tusa6 departs daily from Cairns; a fast 90 minute journey to the outer reef will see you arriving at the first of the day’s two sites, selected from a range of 16 moorings. Sites are chosen as the optimum locations for the weather conditions, and change daily, so each day aboard will bring you a whole new underwater adventure.

Diving for Certified and Introductory Divers as well as snorkelling are all on offer at the reef, where 5 hours allows for plenty of time to enjoy water and topside activities.

Snorkellers will be provided with top ‘diver’ quality masks and snorkels, booties and fins. Wetsuits, and/or lycra suits are provided for all, depending on the season, and for those who like a little extra buoyancy in the water, there are flotation aids available. The snorkelling is straight off the back of the T6, with the reef never more than a short swim away. The crew will give you a thorough brief before you enter the water, and a little instruction about snorkelling for first-timers. A dedicated crew member will be in the water for any that like a little extra assistance, and a Free Guided Snorkel tour with one of the vessel’s professional divemasters will be offered during the day.

Divers will be able to dive over 3 sites, each site will be unique, allowing you to explore vast coral gardens, caverns, walls and isolated pinnacles, while amazing you with sheer the diversity and colour of marine life. Tusa Dive offer you the freedom to dive with your buddy or join the guided dives with one of our divemasters at a small additional cost . Top quality scuba equipment, includes Scubapro regulators and BCDs, Uwatec Aladin Pro dive computers, TUSA Liberators masks and Tusa Imprex fins and booties. Wetsuits are available in all sizes, and include 3mm full length and 5mm shorties, as well as lycra suits if preferred.

The day tour will include Marine Interpretation talks, guided snorkel tours and underwater photography briefs. Lunch is a divine buffet of fresh and healthy food as well as a selection of snacks, tea and coffee being served though out the day.
