Itinerary

Day One - Cape Tribulation (Budget Tour Option)
You will be collected from your accommodation for your tour to Cape Tribulation by our industry partner Jungle Tours. Travel north along one of the most scenic coastal drives in Australia to Port Douglas.  Visit the Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary and see the endangered cassowary and a myriad of other wildlife, including Koalas and Crocodiles.
Breakfast and snacks are available for purchase.  From Port Douglas drive to Mossman Gorge for a guided walk through the world Heritage Rainforest.  Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the many scenic spots along the way.  Your tour continues along the Captain Cook Highway to the majestic Daintree River for your 1 hour river cruise.- you can spot crocodiles, birds and other wildlife that inhabit the area. Learn about the mangroves that line the banks, some of which reach amazing heights and learn of their importance of our ocean’s fish nurseries.
Cross the Daintree River on the famous cable ferry and drive to your overnight accommodation in Cape Tribulation.

Day One- Cape Tribulation (Moderate and Deluxe Tour Option)

You tour today to Cape Tribulation will be in air conditioned comfort and safety with our travel partner Tropical Horizon Tours.  You will discover the unique area of the World Heritage Listed rainforests of Cape Tribulation and Mossman Gorge. Enjoy a 1 hour cruise on the Daintree River and a sumptuous lunch at Coconut Beach Resort.  Swim in the resort's pool.  Travel to Cape Tribulation Beach where the reef meets the rainforest.  You will be taken to your overnight accommodation to experience the world's most diverse and beautiful examples of Mother Nature.  Arrive approx 3.00pm.  The Remainder of the afternoon and evening is free to enjoy the magic of the rainforest.

Day Two

Today Adventure North Australia collects you from you accommodation, where your North Queensland tour will continue along the 4WD Bloomfield Track. You will travel through the heart of this World Heritage Listed area providing incredible glimpses of Australia that are hard to imagine.  Travel over rugged mountain ranges, river crossings, spot crocodiles and other Australian wildlife and fauna.  We stop for lunch at the Lions Den Hotel, one of North Queensland’s oldest running bush pubs which was established in 1875.  Visit the mysterious Black Mountains steeped in Aboriginal legend before arriving mid afternoon in Cooktown.  Here you will enjoy 360 degree views from Grassy Hill so have your camera ready.   Overnight in Cooktown.

Day Three

Today is free for you to explore Cooktown at your leisure, with its world-class James Cook Museum, rich history, walking trails, great fishing, and friendly locals, Cooktown is a great place to visit. Today you have the option to go on a walking tour with Aboriginal Elder, Willie Gordon, on his traditional lands. Rainbow Serpent Tour visiting 6 rock art sites, or take an optional Cooktown tour with a local.
Your return journey of your Cooktown tour will offer spectacular views of the Outback of Far North Queensland, we follow the Great Dividing Range, Australia's most substantial mountain range.  Travel is via the inland road, the Mulligan Highway, through a diverse landscape of cattle stations, Palmer River gold fields region where gold was discovered in 1872.  Learn of the hardships the miners endured in this rugged and harsh countryside.

Optional Tour – Guurrbi Tours - Rainbow Serpent Rock Art Tour 7.45am-1.15pm

An early start today as you will be collected from your accommodation by Nugal-warra Elder, Willie Gordon for a half day Rainbow Serpent Tour.  Willie has a great smile, an infectious laugh and will be taking you to visit the rock art sites on his traditional country outside Hope Vale Aboriginal Community. The Rainbow Serpent Tour takes you through a dramatic landscape to six rock art sites, including an Ancestral Birth Cave and the Reconciliation Cave.

Wear comfortable covered (closed-in) walking shoes today as you’ll be walking through Willie’s country. This afternoon we depart Cooktown via the inland road, The Mulligan Highway, traveling through a diverse landscape of cattle stations and the Palmer River Gold mine region, which is the Outback of Far North Queensland.  We return late evening to your accommodation.
