This day tour commences with collection from your accommodation in Cairns before your board the Kuranda Scenic Railway for a breathtaking one and a half hour journey through the rainforest clad mountains and stunning Barron River Gorge where eventually you will arrive into tropical Kuranda Village Station. Once in Kuranda you will enjoy some free time to explore the quaint village like atmosphere including the world famous Kuranda markets – entry and a guided tour of the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is included.

After enjoying your free time inclusion in Kuranda Village, it’s on to Rainforestation Nature Park, boasting 40 hectares of gardens and rainforest set amidst World Heritage Rainforest. Here a collection of unique experiences awaits you. Ride an amphibious Army Duck through the rainforest, where an experienced driver/guide will explain the mysteries of the ancient ferns and trees and spot a variety of native fauna normally difficult to see. Meander through the Tropical Fruit Orchard featuring over 40 local and international exotic, tropical fruit trees. Visit the Koala and Wildlife Park and come face to face with Crocodiles, hand feed Barramundi, Kangaroos and Wallabies. There is also the opportunity to view other native species, including Rainforest Pythons, Cassowaries and Dingoes. You may also take the opportunity to cuddle a Koala and have your photograph taken (optional expense).

In the rainforest amphitheatre witness the dynamic performance of the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers. The amphitheatre is a totally natural setting - no special effect or lighting is used - the rainforest serves as the theatre walls and the sounds of the forest and the didgeridoo create the backing music! The Dreamtime Walk provides a comprehensive introduction to Aboriginal and Island culture and history with practical experiences including boomerang lessons and spear throwing.

Included in your day is a delicious tropical BBQ lunch, which includes a hot buffet selection as well as a wide selection of salads, cheeses and tropical fruits.

At the end of your fun filled experience at Rainforestation Nature Park we will return to Cairns from Kuranda Village via the Skyrail ‘Rainforest Cableway’! Here you will enjoy a bird’s eye view of pristine World Heritage Rainforest with two stops at Barron Falls and Red Peak stations. At each stop the friendly Skyrail staff will help you disembark your Gondolas to enjoy the spectacular boardwalks that descend into the pristine rainforest. At the end of your journey, an air-conditioned coach awaits you, to transfer you back to accommodation after an enjoyable day!
