Cairns Dive Centre offer an SSI International Advanced Open Water course onboard their 3 day 2 night liveaboard trip which commences from Cairns on a daily basis. Cairns Dive Centre’s day boat, Sunkist, will transfer you out to their liveaboard vessel, the Kangaroo Explorer, which is permanently moored on the outer reef.

The Advanced course consists of 5 training dives - your first 3 dives are Deep dive, Navigation dive & Night dive. A further 2 dives must be completed from a selection of dives including Search & Recovery, Boat Diver, Underwater Naturalist and Multilevel dive.
You will also have the opportunity to do up to 5 pleasure dives while onboard.

The course also includes a further 5 pleasure dives, giving you a total of up to 10 dives (including two night dives). There is also plenty of time between training dives for recreational diving and snorkelling.

Your liveaboard course will include 3 different Great Barrier Reef locations. All dive gear is included; including torches and all accessories required for your night dives. During your SSI International Advanced Open Water course you will reinforce your newly learned skills and extend your diving knowledge in order to gain SSI International Advanced Open Water Certification

Insufficient dive qualifications and/or some medical conditions may prevent you from diving. Prior to commencing diving you will be asked to complete a questionnaire regarding your diving qualifications, experience and current fitness to dive. Should you answer yes to any of the medical questions asked you will be required to consult a doctor to acquire a written medical clearance to dive prior to your dive trip. If you are unsure about a specific medical condition please check with your doctor or with us prior to making your reservation.

Flying after Diving: It is recommended that you do not fly for at least 24 hours after your last dive.
