Lizard Island Queensland is situated 132 Nautical miles north west of Cairns. The Island is surrounded by some of the most beautiful reef in the world. The Island boasts 23 pure white beaches. The reefs surrounding Lizard Island are teeming with marine life. Your low level scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef to Lizard is awesome.

Your day begins with your pick up from accommodation at Port Douglas, Palm Cove, or Cairns City. The Lizard Island Day Tour, is more than just a day out. You will have the opportunity to snorkel some of the best Reefs in Australia, see hundreds of species of fish, swim with large green turtles, view the famous Clam Garden and or walk to the famous Blue Lagoon.
On our way to Lizard Island from Cairns, we fly over hundreds of Reefs, Islands and Sand Cays. We see approximately three hundred kilometres of The Great Barrier Reef. You are in good hands in a multi engine air conditioned aircraft. Once on Lizard Island you have a full six hours, to either explore the world renowned reefs which surround Lizard Island or go for walks on one of the many walking tracks. Some places of interest are the Blue Lagoon and it’s beach which has been named the worlds most beautiful remote beach by Details Magazine in New York, or you can walk to the top of Cook’s Look, the mountain from which Capt Cook found his way out of the maze which is known as The Great Barrier Reef. The marine life is always fantastic with hundreds of species of Colourful fish, Giant Clams, large green turtles, sting rays, and all sorts of Crustaceans. For those wanting to visit the Reef in Australia, it does not get any better than this.
On the way back to Cairns from Lizard Island we show you the rainforests of Daintree, and Cape Tribulation, as well as Cooktown, and the wet lands and river systems of some of the most remote country in Australia. The tour is open to people of all ages. The Reef comes to within thirty meters of the Beach, therefore no climbing on and off boats and more importantly there are no crowds.
