This tour combines the beauty of a scenic flight from Cairns to Green Island, where a generous amount of free time is provided, up to 2 hours on Green Island! This 6000 year old sand cay is home to a multitude of marine life and coral gardens as well as hosting the luxurious Green Island Resort. Swim from powder white sandy beaches in the turquoise waters of the Great Barrier Reef or take a guided rainforest walk with our island naturalist.

Your day continues with a stunning further 15 minutes flight from Green Island out over the majestic Great Barrier Reef to arrive at Great Adventure’s luxury, 3 level, state of the art pontoon, located at Norman Reef. Once onboard the pontoon your Great Barrier Reef adventures begins! Snorkelling equipment and instruction are provided, as are buoyancy vests to make life easy if you are not a confident swimmer.

For those wishing not to get wet, a semi-submersible submarine tour will show you the coral reef and its many brilliant coloured fishes and a staggeringly diverse amount of marine life in absolute comfort. These tours come with full commentary and are available for snorkellers to enjoy as well! The pontoon houses an underwater observatory, which provides large viewing windows looking out at the wondrous panorama of the Great Barrier Reef. The pontoon is spacious and comfortable with features including, showers, change-rooms, full sundeck with sun-lounge, children’s swimming enclosure, bar and buffet area with shaded canopy, tables and chairs for dining. Lunch is a lavish affair, with a selection of hot and cold dishes from the buffet including prawns, fresh salads and tropical fruit platters with freshly baked bread rolls. Tea and coffee are also included at the end of the meal.

After your 3 hours free time inclusion on the pontoon, we cruise back into Cairns onboard Great Adventures luxury catamaran, Reef Prince. The trip back takes 90 minutes, so sit back, relax in air-conditioned comfort and enjoy reflecting on your magical day! A complimentary return transfer back to your hotel is included.
