The Cruise

The best way to experience the Great Barrier Reef is with local operators Tusa Dive on the evolutionary Tusa 5.

Super slick Tusa 5 was launched in September 2007, and is the latest purpose built reef vessel in several generations of TUSA Dive custom craft. Tusa 5 delivers more comfort, more space, more efficient functionality, and offers the very latest in technology. Fully air-conditioned through out with two spacious deck areas this vessel is in survey to carry 120 passengers but will only carry 60 passengers at full capacity each day! The crew to passenger ration is 1:6 so you can expect quality service and attention to detail.

Tusa 5 departs daily from Cairns. A fast 90 minute journey to the outer reef will see you arriving at the first of the day’s two sites, selected from a range of 15 moorings. Sites are chosen as the optimum locations for the weather conditions, and change daily, so each day aboard will bring you a whole new underwater adventure. Diving for Certified and Introductory Divers as well as snorkelling are all on offer at the reef, where 5 hours allows for plenty of time to enjoy water and topside activities. Your day will include Marine Interpretation talks, guided snorkel tours, and underwater photography briefs. Lunch is a divine buffet of fresh and healthy food as well as a selection of snacks, tea and coffee being served though out the day.
