The Diving

Absolute wilderness where nature is obviously in command. Travelling to the far northern regions of the Great Barrier Reef will always be the pinnacle of extreme adventure diving. Australia's spring is the best time to dive the outer walls, offering a great chance of encounters with Megafauna - Brydes Whales, Manta Rays and Whale Sharks are all regular visitors to this region. Massive congregations of reef animals gather to commence breeding, setting off the food chain reaction that attracts the larger pelagics to the area.

Megafauna research … turtle breeding … coral reef spawning events … huge fish aggregations and nautilus research

The panoramic flight to / from the Lockhart River to rendezvous with the Undersea Explorer gives you the opportunity to view the vast wilderness of the Cape York coastline and reefs. The ultimate diving on the Great Barrier Reef is undoubtedly the Raine Island and Great Detached Reef area.

The Undersea Explorer visits Australia's best dive sites on the Great Barrier Reef, Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea, and the spectacular remote Far Northern Reefs. Our liveaboard operation sets new standards in adventure diving by offering truly remote diving , as well as the opportunity to learn from and mingle with marine scientists.

Diver's abilities are respected and include no time-limit dives and exhilarating drift dives. Your diving experience is our priority.
