The Tour
The wonders of Green Island and The Great Barrier Reef are yours to experience and enjoy in the one day! Begin the day with a short cruise from Cairns to Green Island a beautiful Coral Cay located just 45 minutes travel time by fast, luxury catamaran. Once you arrive on Green Island you have up to 2 hours free time to enjoy the majesty and beauty of the island. Take a walk through the emerald green rainforest that covers the island, via the island’s stunning easily accessible timber boardwalks, swim in turquoise waters inhabited by colourful Reef Fish, plentiful in numbers and painted a myriad of jewel like colours or simply lay back on the island’s sandy white beaches and relax under the palm trees.
After your stopover on Green Island, re-board your catamaran and cruise from Green Island to the luxurious 3 level pontoon on the Outer Barrier Reef (Norman and/or Moore Reef locations). The pontoon features undercover seating and tables where you will enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch, including fresh prawns, hot and cold dishes from the buffet with a selection of cold meats, salads, tropical fruit platters as well as fresh bread-rolls with tea and coffee included. Also provided for your pleasure is a sundeck, full bar facilities, an underwater observatory, semi-submersible coral viewing tours with full commentary as well as a host of other facilities to help make your day more comfortable; a swimming enclosure for children, change rooms with fresh water showers and scuba diving facilities with a semi-submerged dive platform. You'll be able to snorkel or dive among the Reef's spectacular coral gardens and diverse marine life or relax on the pontoon in the sun, participate in Underwater Observatory and Semi-Submersible Submarine tours, thus viewing the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef without getting wet!
