The Tour
You will be collected from your accommodation in an air-conditioned four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle and will travel north along one of Australia’s most scenic coastal routes towards the World Heritage Listed Daintree National Park. Crossing the Daintree River by cable Ferry, you will journey through the Daintree Rainforest a spectacular example of Mother Nature. This rainforest contains the highest number of plant and animal species that are rare or threatened by extinction. Your experienced guide will enlighten you along the course of your journey with incredible stories and history pertaining to the area.
Enjoy a morning tea stop at Cape Tribulation before continuing on to travel along the 4WD only Bloomfield Track. The Bloomfield Track will take you through the heart of the rainforest and at times, some of the most rugged terrain in Far North Queensland. Traverse river crossings and mountain ranges along the route before stopping for Lunch at the famous Lion’s Den Hotel (Est.1875) which is one of North Queensland’s oldest running bush pubs. Your tour continues on to the unique geological oddity, which is Black Mountain, a place surrounded in mystery and spoken of in ancient Aboriginal legend.
As you arrive into Cooktown you will have a 360 degree view from Grassy Hill showcasing the spectacular vista of the Endeavour River and Cooktown! On arrival in Cooktown you will have some free time to enjoy the sights before being transferred to Cooktown Airport.
Your ‘Drive Fly’ tour will fly the scenic route back to Cairns; experience a 45 minute flight with Hinterland Aviation as you fly along the coast between the world Heritage Rainforest (which you’ve just experienced by 4WD) and the Great Barrier Reef. Arrive into Cairns Domestic Airport.
Please note that passengers must make own way from Cairns General Aviation Terminal back to accommodation.

This tour is available from Port Douglas however a surcharge of $40.00 per adult and $20.00 per child applies for the coach transfers from Port Douglas to the Cairns airport
